Green Smoothie

This is technically called a green smoothie but it could also be called the magic bullet of nutrition. It won’t make you miraculously drop weight or cure cancer. But it will provide more energy than any drink (even coffee long-term), make you feel more full and satiated while dramatically reducing your sugar cravings and detoxing your body. Those four effects are pillars of sustainable weight-loss.

And…it’s easy to make and tastes refreshingly delicious.

Green-smoothie

Ingredients

1 apple, washed and cored, but with skin (can substitute with pear)

4 stalks celery, ends & tips removed

2 cups chopped romaine lettuce (spinach makes this sweeter)

1/2 large Haas avocado

1/4 bunch cilantro, stems removed (can also use parsley)

3-4 cups filtered water (depending upon your texture preference)

Directions

Put everything in Vitamix or blender and blend.*
*I store the extra in an airtight glass-jar and drink through out the week.
